Congratulations to Rickover Jr. High School!
We are excited to share that Rickover Jr. High School has improved its Annual Summative Designation from the Illinois State Board of Education!
The Illinois State Board of Education has published the annual Illinois Report Card, which you can find at www.illinoisreportcard.com. The Report Card contains school performance data from the 2023-24 school year.
At our school, we care about more than just grades. We want to help all of our students grow and learn in a way that prepares them for their futures. We work hard to build strong connections with families and our community, making sure our students are ready for their next steps in education.
On our 2024 Report Card, we are proud of:
The growth our students are making. Growth Data
Fewer students missing school compared to previous years! Absenteeism Data - click Trends
Every morning, all students start the school day with help in Math, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), or Reading/Writing. Thanks to technology, each student can work on what they need to improve. We use the Be Good People program to help build SEL skills and we have more counselors available to support our students. We also provide extra help through Mathnasium, afterschool tutoring, and Saturday school. We are getting ready for IAR test prep using special questions and a vocabulary program to help our progress.
Our new designation of Targeted Support means we have made great progress, but some groups of students still need to improve more. This designation reminds us that we need to work even harder to make sure every student is learning and growing.
At Rickover Jr. High School, we believe that every student can do well! We know that parents are an important part of a child's education. When we work together, we can achieve even more. You are invited to join our Monthly Virtual Parent Coffee Chat. Check the Google Classroom for details for the next Coffee Chat where you could ask questions about Report Card and talk about the future of Rickover.
